Gain Knowledge

We are constantly looking for new ways to minimize our impact on the environment. We are always on the lookout for new innovations, seeking to move forward and expand our knowledge in order to make change.

Take Action
Words may inspire action, but only action creates change. Therefore, we always seek new knowledge to challenge conventions and embrace change within our business and industry.

Show Respect
Our values are based on respect for people and our planet. We aim to use both human and natural resources in the best way we can. We regard it as our greater mission to make sure our planet is in the best condition possible when we pass it on to future generations.

We take action in rebuilding our planet

Powered by knowledge, honesty and innovation, we work for freedom and a united world. A future characterized by regenerative practices, where people and nature harmonize, and waste is designed out.

Our actions today, create the path to a better tomorrow.

We work for freedom and a united world

"Perhaps we carry with us an understanding of the need for balance. Of co-operation as a key element for success. Here at KnowledgeCotton Apparel, we appreciate the importance of human aspects such as family, friendship and love.

We truly believe in Scandinavian ideals of equality, justice and respect. Because we all share a common responsibility for the future. With dedication and a sometimes naive belief, we can change the world together. "

– Mads Mørup, founder & CEO

Global Organic Textile Standard

Founded by four well-reputed organizations, Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), is the world's leading certification standard for organic textiles including both ecological and social criteria. GOTS covers every step in the production process from the fibers to the finished garment.

GOTS came about from the desire to harmonize existing standards so that they were internationally recognized. Drawing on the input from other relevant international stakeholder organizations and experts for regular standard updates, GOTS remains at the forefront of promoting ethical practices in the textile industry.

KnowledgeCotton Apparel is certified to the GOTS, certified by Control Union 847594.

Reborn™

It's time we start treating our planet as if we're planning to stay. To protect our natural resources, we need to design out waste to keep products and materials in use. The Reborn™ range is doing just that.

Every piece of clothing in the Reborn™ range is made of recycled and reused materials. Each component is carefully extracted and redesigned to be reborn in a circular system.

Organic Content standard

Regenerative organic farming aiming to reverse global warming

Regenerative practices work to maximize carbon fixation in the ground by increasing carbon-rich soil organic matter. This creates a drawdown effect of CO2 from the atmosphere. Using nature's own practices, regenerative organic farming starts with building a healthy soil.

By capturing carbon in soil and above-ground biomass, regenerative organic farming aims to reverse global warming. The practices also help avoid deforestation, one of our biggest climate threats, and put an end to desertification and soil degradation.

Resilience to climate instability is another major benefit for the agricultural communities. The holistic regenerative farming practices prioritize soil health while simultaneously ensuring the health and wealth of farmers and high standards of animal welfare.

The spirit of 1969

The movement. The magic. The very idea of being part of something bigger – sharing a belief that we can change the world together. This is how we want to convey the vibrant spirit of 1969. A time when people came together to create something new. Something beautiful and shared, that often stood in stark contrast to the rigid ideas of the past.

Once again, we live in a time of change, when so much is at stake. But also, a time when opportunities to bring about change are greater than ever. It's a crucial moment, and we need to search deep into our human souls. We may have to face the most difficult challenges for it to happen.

Still, we clearly feel that there is something in the air. There is a movement, a will to take action, and a need to believe in a new tomorrow. We can sense the magic vibes again, just like over 50 years ago. Woodstock. The moon landing. Solidarity among humanity. The refreshing spirit of actually believing we can change the world together.

A forest-first approach

FSC® is a renowned organization trusted globally by NGOs, businesses, and consumers for forestry practices. Prioritizing the protection of forests and the well-being of people, they operate the most rigorous and reliable forest certification on the planet, symbolized by their recognizable "check tree" label on countless products.

By collaborating with various stakeholders to develop innovative solutions – focusing on responsible sourcing, forest conservation, and accelerating forest recovery – FSC® goes beyond certification. Through their many initiatives, they actively contribute to creating healthier and more resilient forests worldwide.

Global Recycled Standard

Products certified to the Global Recycled Standard, GRS contain recycled material that has been independently verified at each stage og the supply chain, from the source to the final product.

In addition, facilities from the source to the final supplier have met social, environmental, and chemical requirements.

KnowledgeCotton Apparel is certified to the GRS, certified by Control Union 847594.

Knowledge to make a difference

As a brand, our inspiration comes from the great environmental challenges facing humanity. It's really just that simple. It all comes down to being aware of the impact we have on our Earth. That the choice is ours. And that we can and need to make changes. We say it's time to take action.

KnowledgeCotton Apparel is not a traditional fashion company. Since the beginning, we've strived to work exclusively with producers, partners and factories in line with our vision. By doing so, we create something unique. A feeling of being in this together.

Replacing plastic with paper

With an estimated 180 billion items* of clothing produced annually, the widespread use of non-recycled plastic poly bags has led to environmental issues such as incineration, landfill accumulation, and pollution.

Being weather-resistant, durable, transparent, curbside-recyclable, and FSC™ certified, Vela™ paper bags offer an innovative alternative to plastic. Vela™ partners with other environmentally conscious brands, and the company's products are manufactured by Seaman Paper – a renowned specialist in lightweight paper and packaging items.

A success story of collective action

Chetna Organic is dedicated to empowering small and marginal farmers in India by enhancing their livelihood opportunities and transforming farming into a qualitative and profitable occupation. Focusing on farmers residing in rainfed areas of Maharashtra, Odessa, and Andhra Pradesh, the organization has created remarkable results over the years.

The success of the Chetna Organic & Fair Trade Cotton project comes from collective action and the establishment of a fair supply chain. Thanks to this initiative, thousands of farmers have experienced positive transformations in their socio-economic circumstances, leading to stability and better prospects for their futures.

Raising awareness on animal exploitation

PETA – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals – is the world's largest animal rights organization with over 9 million supporters globally. They oppose speciesism and focus on areas where animals suffer the most: laboratories, the food industry, the clothing trade, and the entertainment business. PETA also addresses other issues like cruelty to domesticated animals and the killing of rodents and birds.

Their work to raise awareness on animal exploitation involves public education, investigative reporting, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, protest campaigns, and celebrity collaborations.
